METALLOGENICA
assists
mineral exploration, metallogeny, ore deposits, mineral
resources, mining geology, data capture & organization,
worldwide. It is a
"boutique" consultancy based in Adelaide, Australia, but
with a truly global reach. Peter Laznicka, formerly professor of Mineral Deposits at
the University of Manitoba for 27 years, relocated to Adelaide in 1999
and co-founded the Data Metallogenica (DM) information system
where ~3800 sites (mostly metallic deposits) are represented
by the actual rocks and ores not only to be seen, but also
"touched" and nondestructively tested. I have worked,
consulted, lectured, visited and sampled ore occurrences in
85 countries; internationally published 5 major book sets
and several databases.
I offer field interpretation of mineral
occurrences; global comparisons; exploration target generation;
establishment of lithotheque-style records & data systems;
metallogeny training and mentoring; short courses & workshops;
mineral databases; data searches: worldwide, multilingual

stored like books in slotted cabinets. Some 3850 sets @ ~20
samples (~70,000 samples) represent ~3500 deposits in 144
countries & territories. Presently owned by AMIRA,
collection is based in
Adelaide, images on-line at
